St. Louis School Center is a Catholic institution of learning administered by the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM) dedicated to the education of girls and boys in the preparatory, grade school and high school levels.

Historical Highlights

1910                Very Rev. Mother Marie Louise De Meester and three Sisters arrived in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Philippines

1911                Rev. Fr. Devesse, CICM, built a little chapel that also served as a classroom for ten children on Cathedral Hill. Later, ICM sisters came to assist.

1913                Three ICM Sisters formally established the school, Holy Family Campo Filipino with 57 children enrolled in the primary grades.

1916                The elementary course was completed. The Industrial Arts in school included lessons in silversmithing, lace making, woodcarving, carpentry, tailoring

                            and shoe making.

1921                The high school department exclusively for girls was started at Holy Family Academy.

1929                St. Louis School Center at Assumption Road, held its first high school graduation.

1945-1946       The only co-educational batch of high school students graduated after WWII at St. Louis School of Campo Filipino.

1946-1951       Resumption of separate departments for high school boys and girls at St. Louis School Center, Assumption Road.

1951                St. Louis School Center maintained the high school department exclusively for girls. The boys department was absorbed by St. Louis College

                            (now St. Louis University) as a laboratory high school exclusively for boys.

1991                After the earthquake of 1990, the two ICM-run sister schools - St. Louis School Campo Filipino and St. Louis School Center merged into:

                            St. Louis School Center Elementary Department at Assumption Road and Girls’ High School Department at Naguilian Road.

2005                St. Louis School Center began a co-educational program in the high school department.
